About West Coast Seaweed Skincare

West Coast Seaweed Skincare began in 2022 on Vancouver Island with a simple but powerful idea: to harness the benefits of our local West Coast seaweeds and turn them into small batch, high performance skincare. Created with sustainably harvested ingredients and a deep respect for the coastline we call home, the brand quickly became a favourite among estheticians, spas, and skincare professionals who value natural products that truly perform.

In 2025, longtime customer Allison Fryer stepped into ownership after personally experiencing the difference the products made in her own routine. Drawn to the brand’s integrity, local roots, and results driven formulas, she felt inspired to carry its mission forward. Under Allison’s leadership, the company continues to honour its beginnings while bringing renewed energy, thoughtful refinement, and a strong dedication to supporting both small spas and medical clinics with reliable, treatment room ready skincare.

Today, West Coast Seaweed Skincare remains proudly made on Vancouver Island, still handcrafted in small batches, still rooted in sustainability, and still driven by a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in their skin. The goal is to create coastal inspired, esthetician grade skincare that feels personal, intentional, and worthy of the professionals who choose to use it.

FAQs

Where are your products made?

All of our products are handcrafted in small batches in Victoria, BC, using sustainably sourced Salish Sea seaweed and high-quality coastal botanicals.

What makes your skincare different?

Our formulas are bioactive, non-filtered, and naturally fermented. This process keeps the nutrients from our coastal ingredients intact, allowing for deeper absorption and more effective skin benefits.

What type of seaweed do you use?

We use a variety of wild Salish Sea seaweeds, chosen for their high mineral content, antioxidants, and natural skin-replenishing properties. Everything is sourced responsibly to protect local marine ecosystems.

Do your products contain any artificial fragrances or colours?

No. We do not use synthetic fragrances, dyes, or additives. Any scent comes naturally from the fermentation process, botanicals, and seaweed itself.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. All products are vegan, cruelty-free, and made without any animal by-products.

How should I store the products?

Because we use natural, non-filtered ingredients, we recommend storing your products in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not required but may extend freshness for certain serums or masks.

How long do the products last?

Moisturizers:
Use within 6 months at room temperature, or up to 9 months if kept refrigerated.

Water-free serums and oil blends:
Use within 8+ months, or up to 12 months when stored in the refrigerator.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship across Canada, the USA, and select international regions. Shipping rates are shown at checkout.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Where possible, our jars and bottles are glass or recyclable materials. Please rinse containers before recycling.

Can I use your products while undergoing cancer treatment or radiation therapy?
